Biography

Born Aberdeen, Alberto studied at Gray’s School of Art 1932-8 and in France, Italy and Switzerland. Paints landscapes in Scotland and abroad, still life and interiors. Possibly best known for his beach scenes and views of Venice. Morocco was a decorative artist of great felicity, using a rich and varied palette.

He was also influential as a teacher, teaching part-time at Grays and becoming Head of Painting at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee from 1950. He enjoyed commercial success with his work through the Scottish Gallery in Edinburgh right up until his death aged 81in the late Nineties.
