Dumfries and Galloway Fine Arts Society annual exhibition 2013 at the Gracefield Arts Centre

Dumfries and Galloway Fine Arts Society Annual Exhibition 2016

Gallery 1: 16 July - 13 August

Dumfries & Galloway’s largest members based art group presents a fascinating selection of its members’ work. From painting and drawing to craft and sculpture, there is always something to catch the eye and as most are available to buy, it’s the ideal exhibition to start or enhance your art collection! Amongst the DAGFAS founding members in 1922 were Jessie M King, her husband E. A. Taylor and Chris Fergusson. Early members included E.A. Hornel and Charles Oppenheimer and the records show that Scottish Colourist F.C.B. Cadell and ‘Glasgow Girl’ Katherine Cameron were regular exhibitors in the 1920s
Each year, the Fine Art Society arranges a winter programme of demonstrations and workshops given by professional artists, and a summer programme of workshops in different media – hosted at Gracefield Arts Centre on Fridays. Members include amateurs of all levels and non-painters who enjoy the talks and demonstrations, as well as many professional artists
Society president Fiona Robertson says:
